SIGNS OF THE TIMES

WARNING SIGNS
There are gauges on your car; a plane; railroad signs and lights; to warn of impending problems. The weather service warns us when they spot hurricanes on radar or by satellite. These warnings are to inform you that something bad is about to happen and that you need to take evasive action. Many ignore even natural warning signs. 

Although we are used to warning signs in the natural, most pay no attention to spiritual warning signs. 

THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES
In Matthew 16:3, Jesus talked prophetically about the "Signs of the times". 

Jesus said in John 14:1-3 "I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I WILL COME AGAIN , and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." KJV 

Matt 24:27 "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." KJV 

WHAT ARE THESE SIGNS OF THE TIME?
In Matthew 24:3, the disciples said to Jesus, "WHAT SHALL BE THE SIGN OF THY COMING and the end of the world? Throughout Matthew 24 Jesus detailed the signs. 

SIGN 1: ISRAEL WOULD BECOME A NATION AGAIN
PARABLE OF THE FIG TREE 

Mt. 24:32 "Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:" KJV 

ISRAEL LIKEDED TO FIGS 

Jer 24:5-6 Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs , so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good. For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I WILL BRING THEM AGAIN TO THIS LAND: AND I WILL BUILD THEM, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up. KJV 

Ps. 102:16 "When the Lord builds up Zion, He shall appear in His glory"

These scriptures are referring to the Jews returning to their land is a major sign. 

Israel became a nation again in 1948 in a movement called "Zionism". This was a sign given by Christ to let us know he is getting ready to return and that the end time scenario prophesied about by the prophets and the book of Revelation is about to happen. 

SIGN 2: JACOB'S TROUBLE.Jer 30:7-8 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble ; but he shall be saved out of it. For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:" KJV 

Jacob's name was changed to Israel. 'Jacob's trouble' is referring to 'Israel's trouble' in the last days. 

SIGN 3: RUSSIA COMING AGAINST ISRAEL
Ezek 38:2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog , the land of Magog , the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him," 

Gog and Magog are the lands north of Israel. Bible scholars know that Gog and Magog are modern day Russia. 

THE INVASION OF ISRAEL WILL COME FROM THE NORTH. 

Ezek 38:6 "Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee." KJV 

Ezek 38:15 "And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:" KJV 

Ezek 38:8-9 After many days thou shalt be visited: IN THE LATTER YEARS thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee" 

V 16 And thou shalt come up against my people of ISRAEL, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, KJV 

Russia has always been against the Jews and Israel. Russia has been arming Israel's enemies for decades. (Read the whole chapter of Ezekiel 38 which describes this invasion of Israel. ) 

SIGN 4: Zech. 14:2 ALL NATIONS WILL COME AGAINST ISRAEL.
Zech 14:2 "For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle;" KJV 

This will be the BATTLE OF ARMAGEDDON 

Rev 16:16 "And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon." KJV 

SIGN 5: WAR; 6. PLAGUES; 7. FAMINE; 8. EARTHQUAKES in DIVERS places.The word 'divers' is referring on an international scale. 

Matt 24:6-8 "And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are THE BEGINNING OF SORROWS." KJV 

WAR 

In the 1900's were the first world wars. Nearly 50 were killed in WW I and WW II. There have been wars in Asia; the Middle East; Africa; Latin America; and throughout the world. This has been the generation that has seen the development of the nuclear bomb which has the capability of annihilating mankind. Rogue nations such as Iran and Korea now either have the capability of having nuclear weapons or are on the verge of it.
 
PLAGUES 

Around the time of WW I 20 million died of Spanish Influenza. Now the plague of HIV is scourging the earth killing tens of millions.
 
FAMINE 

In this generation there have been famines in Biafra, Ethiopia, Sudan, Cambodia and Congo that have killed untold millions. The reason abortion is being promoted so strong is that many are saying we are on the verge of having too many mouths to feed. If we don't reduce the population it will threaten the existence of all mankind.
 
EARTHQUAKES 

Devastating earthquakes are happening in Iran, Turkey, China, Mexico, Latin America and America. Tsunamis are caused by earthquakes. 

Wars, plagues, famine and earthquakes are happening in 'divers' places.
SIGN 9: IRAQTHE EUPHRATES RIVER 

Rev 9:12, 14-15 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the GREAT RIVER EUPHRATES. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men." KJV 

The Euphrates River is in Iraq. 

BABYLON 

Rev 18:10 "Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon , that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come." KJV 

Babylon is in Iraq. Babylon has already been rebuilt. www.zionministry.com/babylon.html 

SIGN 10: CHINARev 9:13-16 "And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. And THE NUMBER OF THE ARMY OF THE HORSEMEN WERE TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND THOUSAND: and I heard the number of them." KJV 

China is the only nation that could field an army of 200,000,000. 

CHINA NOW IS BECOME A SUPERPOWER ECONOMICALLY AND MILITARILY. 

Rev 16:12 "And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates ; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of THE KINGS OF THE EAST might be prepared." 

China is East of Iraq. Rev. 9:14:19 

SIGN 11: Lk. 21:25 "PERPLEXITY OF NATIONS", "DISTRESS OF NATIONS"The nations won't know what to do. 

SIGN 12. SIGNS IN THE HEAVENSLuke 21:25 "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars;" KJV 

This has been the first generation with space flight; satellite navigation, etc. Scientist are concerned about 'sun spots', and the fear of global warming and about comets hitting the earth which could cause tsunamis mass loss of life and destruction of the ecosystem. 

SIGN 13: THE SEA AND WAVES ROARING Lk 21:25The sea and waves roaring is a perfect description of Tsunamis and Hurricanes. Hurricane Katrina virtually destroyed New Orleans as the sea covered and destroyed most of the city. Hurricane Ike had a storm surge of 23 feet that covered Galveston and destroyed 70 % of the city. 

Rev 16:20 "And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found." KJV 

This probably will happen by super tsunamis. Scientists have said that it is possible for a tsunami to rise to over a thousand feet high. 

SIGN 14: ECOLOGICAL COLLAPSEMany scientists are warning about Global Warming. They are saying that if we don't do something that the world cannot survive. Ecological disaster is impending that will threaten all mankind. Most of those prognosticators of global warming are agnostics or atheists. It is interesting that the Bible predicts that an ecological collapse is coming, but the Bible says it will not be cause by man, but that it will be caused by the wrath of God on unrepentant sinners. Atheists believe Bible prophecy more than Christians and are trying to stop the book of Revelation from happening. 

SCRIPTURES PROPHESYING THIS ECOLOGICAL COLLAPSE. Rev. 5:1,5; 7 , Rev 6:1-7:1, Rev. 8:2, 6; Rev. 17:1, 21:9. These scriptures are talking about the 7 SEALS; THE SEVEN VIALS; AND THE SEVEN TRUMPET JUDGMENTS that will happen in the Great Tribulation. 

THIS WILL BE IN THE GREAT TRIBULATION 

Matt 24:21-22 "For then shall be great tribulation , such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." KJV 

SIGN 15: WITCHCRAFTAncient witchcraft is spreading in the developed world like a wild fire. The Harry Potter books have sold over 400 million as of 2008. So many books, TV programs, cartoons, movies and entertainment theme parks center around witchcraft. 

Witchcraft is the work of Satan and demons. 

The Bible says that witchcraft is a sin that will keep you out of heaven. 1 Sam. 15:23, 2 Chron. 33:6, Gal. 5:20 Rev. 13:7-8, 12:9 Says Satan worship will be prevalent world wide. The promotion of witchcraft is preparing the world for this. 

SIGN 16: THE PHILOSOPHY OF HUMANISM2 Tim 3:1-2 "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. FOR MEN SHALL BE LOVERS OF THEIR OWN SELVES," KJV 

Judg 21:25 "In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes." KJV 

Man will look at himself as a god just like the Egyptians, Assyrians, Romans and Greeks believed. Humanism has become the philosophy of the New Age. 

SIGN 17: SOCIALISM: Mk. Of Beast Rev. 16:2
Rev 13:17 "And that no man might buy or sell , save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." KJV Rev 19:20 

THIS WILL BE THE END OF A FREE ECONOMY. The world government will totally control the economy. Only those who comply with its rules will be allowed to do business. This will be DONE IN THE NAME OF ECONOMIC EQUALITY FOR ALL. 

In 2008 there was an unprecedented $750 Billion bailout of banks. Now the government is talking about spending trillions of dollars to bail out the economy and put all on the same economic playing field. This is socialism. There is no soundness in this kind of an economy. 

THIS SOCIALISTIC ECONOMIC SYSTEM WILL BE DEVASTATING TO THE RICH 

James 5:1-3 "Go to now, ye rich men , weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days." KJV 

James 5:5 "Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter." KJV This is the economic horror this world socialistic system will bring on the rich. 

1 Tim 6:10-11 "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things" KJV 

The 'love of money' among the greedy poor is the impetus behind taking the wealth of the rich and spreading it around. Socialism will be the poor's revenge against the rich. This will be the ultimate climax to the 'class struggle' which has been going on for years. The greed of the rich who were not compassionate on the poor nor obeyed Christ's Great Commission to 'preach the Gospel to every creature', will literally bring this curse upon their own heads. 

SIGN 18: There will be a WORLD GOVERNMENTRev 13:7-8 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and POWER WAS GIVEN HIM OVER ALL KINDREDS, AND TONGUES, AND NATIONS. KJV 

Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which DECEIVETH THE WHOLE WORLD: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. KJV 

SIGN 19: THE SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST 1 Jn 2:22,1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. KJV 

1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. KJV 

PERSECUTION ON CHRISTIANS 

Rev 13:7-8 "And it was given unto him TO MAKE WAR WITH THE SAINTS" 

Matt 24:9 "Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake." KJV 

There is an aggressive attack going on to destroy Christianity among the Muslims, Hindus, Leftists and the New Age. Public education has taken a hard anti-Christian stance and has been systematically endeavoring to destroy faith in the Bible and Christ for many decades. There is tolerance towards all religions except Christianity. Many Christian churches are now being burned down and many Christians are being killed in many nations. 

SIGN 20: It will be like the DAYS OF LOT Lk 17:28. HOMOSEXUALITY WAS PREVALENT AND AGGRESSIVE.At Sodom and Gomorrah in Lot's day not only were there many homosexuals, but they were also very aggressive. The scriptures below describe this... 

Gen 19:4-5 "But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them (the biblical phrase for having sex with them). 

Gen 19:9 "And they said, Stand back...And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door." KJV 

They aggressively came to rape the men. 

Luke 17:28-30 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. KJV 

Homosexuals have become just as prevalent and aggressive today just like in Lot's day. 

Jude 7-8 "Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities." KJV 

SIGN 21: PEOPLE UNREPENTANT OF THEIR SINSRev 2:21-22 "And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds." KJV 

SIGN 22: MINGLING OF THE RACES , DIVIDED NATIONSDan 2:41-43 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, THE KINGDOM SHALL BE DIVIDED; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest IRON MIXED WITH MIRY CLAY, THEY SHALL MINGLE THEMSELVES WITH THE SEED OF MEN: BUT THEY SHALL NOT CLEAVE ONE TO ANOTHER, even as iron is not mixed with clay. KJV 

The U.N., America and Europe have let down their borders in order too mingle the different races, religions and cultures. They are attempting to assimilate them in the name of 'world peace' to remove their differences. There plan is not working though. What has developed is that the people of the different races, religions and cultures are not cleaving one to another. The Asians, Latins, Blacks, Whites, Arabs, Muslims, Hindus, etc., have their own enclaves within a nation and have little socialization with those of other races, religions or cultures as a whole. Of course there are some exceptions. The people don't have a common god or culture. Oftentimes now, within a nation, they don't all even speak the same language. The people of the different races and religions don't cleave one to another; therefore, even if they are of the same nationality the people are not one people. Now, nations are made up of people with divided loyalties. 

IN KENYA the opposition candidate for president had made an agreement with the Muslims that if he were elected his administration would no longer allow Christian churches to be built on Kenya's coast or in the north; Christian broadcasting on TV and radio would be banned; and Islamic sharia law would become the law of Kenya. This would have basically made Kenya an Islamic nation. It's astonishing that many professing Christians in Kenya did not factor in Christianity or the Bible when they voted. They voted strictly along tribal lines. To them, having a man from their own tribe to be president was far more important than any issues dealing with Christianity. They just were not factored in. The result was tribal hatred and tribal warfare. 

THE BIBLE SAYS THE KINGDOM SHALL BE DIVIDED. THIS IS WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW. NATIONS ARE DIVIDED. 

Luke 11:17 "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth." KJV 

ACCORDING TO 2:41-43, THIS 'MINGLING OF THE SEED OF MEN' IS WHAT IS GOING TO MAKE THE FOURTH KINGDOM, THE ANTICHRIST'S KINGDOM, FALL. 

SIGN 23: FALSE PROPHETS Matt 24:12 "And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many." KJV2 Tim 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will NOT ENDURE SOUND DOCTRINE ; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they SHALL TURN AWAY THEIR EARS FROM THE TRUTH, AND SHALL BE TURNED UNTO FABLES. KJV 

Ro. 1:25 "Turn the truth into a lie" 

In Rick Warren's best selling book THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE, p. 285, Rick Warren says, "JESUS SAID THE DETAILS OF MY RETURN ARE NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS." There is absolutely no truth in this statement according to Matthew 24. In this chapter Jesus gives many details regarding the end times and His return. 

'THE KINGDOM NOW' and 'DOMINION NOW' TEACHINGS are openly AGAINST THE RAPTURE. Those involved in these movements teach that Christians are going to conquer the governments and economies of the nations and then Jesus is going to come and sit in the Temple. This makes "Christians" the conquers instead of Jesus. According to their conclusions, poor Jesus needs them to set up His kingdom on the earth before he can come back. 

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT THE RAPTURE? 

Although the word 'Rapture' is not in the Bible, 1 Thess. 4:16 clearly describes it. 

1 Thess 4:16-17 "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." KJV 

For those who do not believe in the rapture, they are openly defying these scriptures which makes them 'unbelievers' of God's Word. 

SIGN 18: Mk 13:29 "WHERE IS THE PROMISE OF THY COMING?" That is exactly what the 'Kingdom Now' people and non-Christians are mockingly saying. 

SIGN 24: FALSE CHRIST'S, MESSIAH'S

The word Christ means THE MESSIAH. 

Matt 24:23-24 "Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 

For there shall arise false Christs… insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." KJV 

In Nazi Germany the German proclaimed Hitler 'The Messiah'. 

Today, people are once again calling political leaders 'The Messiah'. 

There is only ONE MESSIAH for all mankind, Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. 

To call anyone other than Jesus 'The Messiah' is blasphemy and is one of the signs Jesus said would happen in the last days. 

SIGN 25 THE GREAT APOSTASY:

Matt 24:12-13 "And because iniquity shall abound, THE LOVE OF MANY SHALL WAX COLD. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." KJV 

2 Thess 2:9-12 "Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And WITH ALL DECEIVABLENESS of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they RECEIVED NOT THE LOVE OF THE TRUTH, that they might be saved. And for this cause GOD SHALL SEND THEM STRONG DELUSION , THAT THEY SHOULD BELIEVE A LIE: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." 

1 Tim 4:1-2 "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall DEPART FROM THE FAITH , GIVING HEED TO SEDUCING SPIRITS, and DOCTRINES OF DEVILS; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;" 

2 Thess 2:3 "Let no man deceive you by any means: for THAT DAY SHALL NOT COME, except there come A FALLING AWAY FIRST," 

SIGN 26: MANY WILL BE OFFENDED, BETRAY AND HATE ONE ANOTHER
Matt 24:10-11 

Matt 10:36 Jesus said, "And a man's foes shall be they of his own household." KJV 

Strife, betrayal and hatred are common in families and even within nations. 

WHEN IS JESUS COMING BACK and WHEN ARE THESE THINGS GOING TO HAPPEN?
WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO SET DATES FOR CHRIST'S RETURN? 

In 1988 a book came out '88 REASONS JESUS IS RETURNING IN '88" When Jesus didn't return in '88, many who got saved at that time backslid. So many 'prophets' have set dates of Christ's return. There are those who are now predicting He will come in 2012. The news media always gravitates to these predictions. When Christ doesn't return on the date prophesied, it destroys the credibility of the message of the Coming of the Lord. Now here we are today with all the signs of Christ's return every where and hardly any preacher is speaking of Christ's Second Coming. 'Wolf' has been cried one time too often. Naming dates of Christ's return is nothing but a strategy of Satan himself to desensitize preachers and Christians to this vital message. This practice of setting dates has destroyed many people's faith. 

Luke 18:8 "Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" KJV 

IT IS UNSCRIPTURAL TO SET DATES FOR CHRIST'S RETURN? 

Mt 25:13 Jesus said, "NO MAN KNOWS THE DAY OR THE HOUR" of his return 

WE DON'T KNOW THE DAY OR THE HOUR, BUT WE WERE GIVEN THE SIGN OF THE GENERATION. 

Mt 24:34 'Jesus said, "THIS GENERATION SHALL NOT PASS TIL ALL BE FULFILLED" 

'This generation' that sees Israel becoming a nation; all nations turning against Israel; war, plagues, famine, and earthquakes in divers places; the threat of China; Iraq; perplexity and distress of nations; false prophets; false Christ's (messiah's); and a great apostasy 

SIGN 27: FEARLk 21:25 "Men's hearts failing because of FEAR looking at the things coming on the earth" 

SIGN 28: Knowledge Shall IncreaseDan 12:4 “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” KJV 

Since early 1900 man’s knowledge has taken quantum leaps. We have had the invention of electricity; telephones; radio; television; automobiles; planes; jets; space travel; computers; cell phones. The inventions are endless and the increase of knowledge is increasing at an incredible pace. There has been no generation that has seen knowledge increase like this generation. 

SIGN 29: Travel Will IncreaseDan 12:4 "the time of the end: MANY SHALL RUN TO AND FRO," 

No generation has seen travel increase like this one: automobiles, trains, ships and planes. 


IS THERE ANY HOPE? GOD'S PROMISES FOR HIS CHILDREN
Lk 6:13 Jesus said we should pray, "Deliver us from evil" Ps 37:25 "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread." KJV

Heb 11:9-10 Regarding Abraham the scriptures say, Heb 11:9 "By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For HE LOOKED FOR A CITY which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God." KJV Abraham was looking for heaven. 

Ps. 23:6 "and I WILL DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD FOR EVER"
